f e a r l e s s
defeated
i dissolve
into a child
needing you
needing love
i rule
my world -
i toil
to feed hunger,
its many mouths:
things i need, things i want;
i toil
to fortify my kingdom.
i, my own queen
i fight my battles
i speak my mind
i stand my ground
f e a r l e s s l y
i’m seen
seated on
independency:
my throne.
but you
you see the child
within the queen
because you
you know my heart
you see past
my grinning mask,
my crown, my throne
and when i say, “Abba…”
you know what’s coming
glad to know
i can be simply me
when i come to you
no eloquence on my mouth
stripped bare to the core
just pour out
my heart
and i will be heard
will not be judged
glad to know
i can depend on you
while
the whole world thinks
i’m on my own
you are my God
you are my strength
my courage
it is through you
that i’m seemingly
fearless
but you know better
i’m just a child
running
running for cover
screaming “Daddy!”
while the whole world
thinks
i’m on my own
i declare
my dependency
on you
i surrender my throne
bless my crown
rule my world
feed my hunger
fortify my kingdom
make me
fearless again
so i could fight
again
Beauties and Glitches
blessed is this heart
for it screams like a child
because of its own foolish ways
yet it seeks to beat
like a woman’s –
motherly. like home. like earth.
blessed are these arms
for they are not tied, not palsied:
they push away in defiance
barricades in defense
hangs limp in defeat
pulls in to embrace
opens wide to excuse oneself,
“i AM human, just human.”
& raises to heaven
to let go of its load and
reach back to God.
blessed is this tongue
for it speaks truth
for freedom, for change.
blessed are these shoulders
for they carry
a packed skull
of things colorful
at times right, at times wrong
welcomes correction;
eyes that see
life and majesty
in the hands of the Maker,
harmony
in the things He made,
difference between
darkness and light;
ears that both
hear and don’t
selective
because i pet my ego.
blessed are these beauties & glitches
for they are the cause
of my many rise and fall and rebirth;
for they give me eyes to see
more of God and the frail human in me -
in need of Him;
for they give me reason
to go down on my knees
close my eyes and pray,
Father, here i am.
Mold me, teach me, change me, heal me;
for they taught me how
to let go
let things be
and let Him be
the great God –
big enough
to fit me in His palms
small enough
to hear my littlest cry.
a simple prayer.
tomorrow,
if i awake,
give me the strength
to stand up,
raise my lips to the sun,
and drink.
this is beautiful,
so i reblogged.

Before posting this I did a little research about Valentine’s Day because, honestly, to me it’s an ordinary day that people fuss about, except that I get giddy because of the flowers, because I love flowers. After a few readings I think I want to commemorate rather than celebrate. Love, I believe, should be celebrated everyday. It doesn’t matter who you love, just as long as you love. That’s reason there to celebrate. I said commemorate because of the 14 Christian martyrs who all shared the same name, Valentine. They were collectively named the Valentines. Given that I really don’t see the connection to romance, unless we are talking about the Feast of St. Valentines who died on February 14, because apparently this hallowed priest was the patron saint of affianced couples and happy marriages… also of bee keepers. He was probably a marriage counselor… er, that’s just my opinion. Still Valentine’s Day isn’t just about him, there were 14 of them. My heart goes to these 14 Christian Martyrs though. It’s probably the reason why its color is red… representing blood, representing love… their love for Christ.
Maybe we will not be able to change the way people are celebrating Valentine’s Day today but let us not forget those who did not fear to lay their lives for Christ.
This is I See Love by Third Day, Mercy Me and Steven Curtis Chapman. It sings about Christ, His love for humanity and how he perfectly exemplifies love. He is love personified. Yes, if you’re looking for the true meaning of love look at the Man who was nailed at the Cross 2000 years ago on the hill of Golgotha. Or if Christ is too offensive then look at the One Christ cried unto while being nailed to the Cross with “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me,” the God who holds time and the universe in His hands; the God whom all of us came from. And I want to clarify Jesus wasn’t complaining at that hour. He was quoting from a Psalm written by his ancestor, King David. He was praising God while experiencing an excruciating pain. The Psalms were written to praise God, right? So there.
I meant to post You and Me by Dave Matthews because it’s a romantic song minus the cheesiness. I have couples with inspiring stories in mind. But finding out about the real story behind Valentine’s Day made me hold back and choose I See Love.
God displays His wonderful artistry through nature. those living artworks show that God can do the same in you. He loves you more than the earth, more than the universe… He placed you last after He created both because they were made for you. He can splash your life with colors. all you need to is believe.
this is More by Matthew West.
city lights, city streets
metropolis, yes.
still a forest, a jungle
with concrete roads
tall buildings and speeding wheels
and anyone
could easily get lost in it.

pardon my audacity to ask:
hast thou cares,
winged armies of the sky,
thou livest in abandon
as though worry is a myth?

there’s something forlorn and tragic
about this wasted space
a house of books
a house of thousands of stories
all blown away to be forgotten

Words made our histories go round and up and down like a roller coaster that zooms and slows down and halts and plunges and up again. Words are the signs and the promises and the prayers that went up to Heaven and sought the ears and the heart of God. Heaven hears as we speak the words, as we write them down,
as we bless or curse the land, the air, people, things, situations. Words don’t die. Words teach, inspire and encourage. Words heal. Words kill, burn and severe. Words destroy. Words unspoken and unheard don’t die into silence. Our words are alive. They scream, sing, laugh, cry, help, pray and love.
And let us not forget that God set an example when He commanded “Light be!” to the universe, that there’s power in the words we declare.
